From: Jonathan Diaz (jonmdiaz@yahoo.com) in Washington, USA

I have received a similar txt message from a Philippine based number that I have won 2 million pesos in an electronic charity raffle.

Here is the message: "FROM: +639283732360 CONGRATS. YOUR SMART PHONE NO. WON 2 MILLION PESOS IN 27TH ANNIVERSARY OF PHIL MULTI STATE CORP. ELECTRONICS DRAW IN PHILS. CLAIM YOUR PRIZES CALL MIKE VALDEZ #09283732360 THIS INTL. RAFFLE DRAW IS INTENDED TO ALL PILIPINO OVERSEAS WORKER WORK ABROAD MABUHAY PO."

I believe that this is a scam even from the first time I've seen the message. That is why I went to find a reputable office such as yours to help me spread the word to all Filipinos with roaming numbers to be cautious with this kind of scams from the Philippines.

I really appreciate your help, and more power to you.

You might be one of the receiver, ignore this nonsense messages if you don't want to be trapped by the SCAMMERS. Those who fall on this kind of trap will end up loosing savings from hard worked earned. The most important thing is don't every reply to text scam, so they will not have the chance to pursue further encouragements.

Inform your friends about thi fraud cel phone number to educate them about the scam.

Text Scam Central Bank "Handog ng Pangkabuhayan"

Cel phones are not just a means of express communication but it has become a tool of grave threat of scamming to all cel phone users by a fraudulent individuals.

Just now, I received a text message from a completely unknown person which says -

"N0TICE FROM:CENTRAL BANK OF THE PHILIPPINES CONGRAT'S UR SIM #WON DURING UR 73RD GRAND ANNIVERSARY.2ND PRIZE WINNER WORHT (850,000,00) HANDOG PANGKABUHAYAN.PLS SEND UR NAME/AGE/ADDRES/WORK..TO CLAIM UR PRIZE CALL ME NW! I'M ATTY.JOSEPH P.CHAN PER DTI PERMIT #0693S'10."

This is just a sample copy of text message coming from a syndicate seeking to convince other people, obviously, making you believe a million richer and claims as an authorized government agency representatives/lawyer as a proof of their legitimacy.

Beware of this kind of messages and illegal promos, these are phone scamming carried by unknown person only to make money, better yet, is to ignore it. Once you reply on this kind of scam messages they will consider you as qualified and from there bit by bit you are trapped and shed all what you save.

Legitimate promos will always be on the course of proper ads on the newspaper provided by the carrier, if you have any complains, immediately report to National Telecommunication Commission at 9267722 or DTI Hotline 811-8231 local 1216.
